The recent explosion of new color palettes, exotic patterns, and striking shapes & sizes in stoneware, porcelain, & glass are offering a glamorous antidote to traditional tile surfaces.  Leading the pack in popularity are the new high-tech porcelains.  In the late 1980’s, the Italians put their technical expertise to the test & created porcelain tiles, a frost-resistant, stone look-alike alternative (see below, yes it’s all porcelain!).  Porcelains’ durability and non-slip properties make it ideal for a number of applications.  Sea Pointe Designers like to spec porcelain tile for its almost zero water absorption rate & excellent wear rating.  Clients also like it’s “color all the way through” qualities and it’s performance as a favorite SoCal indoor/outdoor tile.
