“Our bathroom has been torn up for over 9 years.  We were remodeling ourselves until my husband developed a life threatening heart condition in 2000 and had a pacemaker implanted.  In 2003 he suffered a ruptured intestine and endured three major surgeries to repair it.  Late last year I was diagnosed with cancer and have been undergoing chemotherapy for the last nine months.  Needless to say, our remodel has been put on hold indefinitely.

The floors are bare sub-floor and I am always getting splinters in my feet.  There are no doors on the cabinet so all our necessities are stored in plastic storage bins.  A piece of the drywall is standing against one wall and the plumbing from where the tub used to be is still poking up out of the floor.  The 70’s tile in the shower and the glass doors are so stained they are impossible to clean.  The countertop is all wood and is rotting under the faucets.  Neither one of us has the energy to finish the bathroom and we are getting desperate!”
