Below are images taken with a regular camera and an infrared
camera during the testing process. This imaging allows the Home
Performance Services technician to identify areas of your home
that are losing heat and under performing.
In the infrared images on the right, the brighter the area of
the image, the more heat loss is detected.

The photo on the left is of the plumbing inside a vanity
cabinet. The infrared picture on the right shows where heat
escapes under and around the pipes that lack insulation.

The photo on the left is of the attic access panel.. The
infrared picture on the right shows where an enormous amount
heat is drawn through the panel into the attic.

The photo on the left is a recessed light fixture. The infrared
picture on the right shows where a majority of heat is lost
through the actual light fixture and also reveals where
insulation is missing in the ceiling above.

The hallway
pictured on the left does not reveal where energy is lost. The
infrared picture on the right shows leaks along the baseboard
and a particularly large leak behind the door stop.

The light fixture in the left photo does not show where energy
is lost. On the right, the bright colors reveal an un-insulated
installation. |
